Ingrid embarked upon her yoga journey in 1999 at the Jivamukti Yoga Center in New York City, where she studied directly under David Life and Sharon Gannon. Having been drawn to yoga due to multiple injuries from long distance running, Ingrid began to discover the healing powers of yoga extend beyond the asana practice.

She found that after a strong and dedicated yoga practice of many years, she was able to strengthen her body to begin running again, yet now finds therapeutic expression in meditation and yoga, in lieu of high-impact exercise. Seeking to share this gift with others, Ingrid began teaching yoga in New York City in 2001. During her years of teaching, she spent half a year in Australia, where she studied Iyengar and Bikram yoga extensively, and participated and assisted in workshops with Doug Swenson, Rodney Yee, and Shiva Rea. She also spent a summer at the Sivananda Center in Montreal, Canada, where she further strengthened her teaching and meditation skills. Her teacher training certification is with the OM yoga in New York City.

In 2006, she moved back to Durham, NC, where she had attended law school, to found Blue Point Yoga Center, a large and successful yoga center, which is still thriving today. However, as a native of Southern California, the beach was calling her and she now calls San Diego her home. As well as teaching yoga, Ingrid currently practices as an attorney specializing in intellectual property law. In her past lives, she has been a venture capitalist, a strategic business consultant, a jazz lounge singer in Australia, a corporate attorney in NYC, and a yoga studio owner in Durham.

Ingrid's classes are upbeat and energetic, incorporating a vigorous vinyasa flow with dharma teaching and a strong understanding of human physiology. She seeks to offer each student a deep awareness of his/her personal capabilities and bodies, respecting its limits with compassion and ahimsa. With a strong emphasis on alignment, Ingrid's background in Iyengar brings a thoughtfulness to her teaching, yet she seeks to maintain a lightness and humor in class that encourages a wakefulness in daily life. She believes in listening to our own bodies' wisdom, while freeing its energy with the fluidity of Vinyasa flow movement. Ingrid has personally witnessed the healing powers of yoga in herself and her students, and she considers herself lucky to share the gift of yoga with others.
