Jeanne left the corporate world in Calgary, Canada in 2004 to pursue full time study of the body mechanics and teaching disciplines of Pilates and Yoga. In February 2005, Jeanne continued Pilates training under Romana Kryzanowska and Jay Grimes, protégés of Joseph H. Pilates which led her to open up her own studio in Del Mar, CA. It was during this time that she met and began to study Power Yoga with Carolina Vivas, long time yoga student of Dharma Mittra and influenced by Bryan Kest. Jeanne decided to further pursue her passion for Yoga and completed a Vinyasa Yoga teacher training under Carolina Vivas. She finished her 200 hour Yoga certification with an emphasis on Yoga philosophy, alignment, adjustment techniques, breath work, meditation, Sanskrit, anatomy, flow and sequencing. Jeanne has been studying diet and fitness on her own since 1994 and is a strong supporter of both Pilates and Yoga. She believes that it is her Pilates training that enhanced her Yoga practice and understanding of how to teach proper alignment in the body. |
